Property Description

The Trent Tavern is a community pub with a traditional 1960's style. The pub is on the outskirts of Stoke and Hanley and just off the A52 boasting great transport links. Internally, it has a spacious lounge and dining area, with direct access to the garden. The front traditional bar is also fairly large and features a pool table and darts throw. Externally, the pub consists of a large car park to the front and side of the pub and a large garden to the rear. The ingoing publican should look to develop an updated retail offer and improve the decoration. Available on a Beacon agreement this pub is ideal for a new retailer or experienced retailer who wants to continue and grow the great local neighbourhood and be the hub of the local community. The new publican should look to maintain the strong loyal following and have a vision to develop ideas, seeking new opportunities to help this fantastic pub reach its full potential.

Private Accommodation: The private accommodation is above the pub and can be accessed from behind the bar. It comprises three bedrooms, a lounge and kitchen.

Trading Style

Indoor trading area

The internal trading areas include a large and traditional bar with seating for around 50 customers, which is home to team activities, sports viewing, a pool table and darts throw. Featuring an array of cask and keg options, the bar is large and easy to access. The lounge area has seating for around 80 customers and is a mixture of fixed and loose seating. In the past the pub has occasionally put on live music, and this could be an area to promote to boost sales. The kitchen is well-equipped and appropriate to deliver a traditional menu.

Outdoor trading area

There is a very large garden and patio to the rear of the pub with picnic benches for around 50 customers. The new publican has a great opportunity to develop this further and host summer events. There is a smoking shelter to the rear and the pub would benefit from an area to the front. A tarmacked car park exists to the front and the side of the pub with parking for around 60 vehicles.

Regional Manager Comments

This is a great opportunity for a new publican to make a difference at the Trent Tavern and look at the pub from a different perspective, to seek out new opportunities within the business. It is a great wet-led pub with a strong local following and an opportunity exists to develop ideas to move this pub forward.
