The Fishers Arms pub has been at the heart of Horncliffe village since 1760. The pub was closed in 2021 and in danger of being lost to residential housing. It was saved in July 2022 when shareholders bought this valued village asset. They were determined to refurbish and improve the building for the use of the local community.

It was acquired by the Fishers Arms Community Benefit Society in July 2022. The pub then underwent significant refurbishment and reopened in December 2023.
