The Manor Castle is situated on the outskirts of Sheffield near to the historic Manor Castle ruins and attraction. Sheffield Manor Lodge, also known as Sheffield Manor or locally as Manor Castle, is a lodge built about 1516 in what then was a large deer park southeast of Sheffield, this attracts footfall of tourists in the area. The pub is located on the corner of Manor Lane, the community consists of a mixture of new and re-developed housing. The area has good transport routes – Sheffield train station offers frequent services to Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds. The main M1 is fifteen minutes away and is the main motorway route into Leicester and Leeds. Pub Layout The Manor Castle is traditionally decorated throughout. Upon entry to the pub, granted via the front door, you are at first greeted by a lobby area. A door to your right leads you into the main trading area which has a mixture of fixed seating and soft furniture and is the main gathering space for locals. This area has a large open fire for those cosy winter nights and is in keeping with the traditional aspect of the pub. A central bar services both the main room and the second trade space. Back through to the lobby area doors lead to the ladies and gents toilets with another door leading you through to the additional trading spaces, here you will find two rooms boasting plenty of mixed and loose seating, including a lovely tap room with wood panelling. Although the Manor Castle does not have a carpark this does not impact the trade of the pub as the community is within a short walking of the pub and parking is located near by.

Trading Style

The pub offers itself as a wet-only pub, with a community feel. It is well supported by the locals throughout the year and tourists through the seasons. The retail offer adapts to the time of the year but offers something for all from pub games and sports teams to having a good rhythm of the week with live entertainment, DJ & Karaoke, open the box night and local events. There is a a good value offer in place with the added benefit of some premiums largers available, along side wines and spirits.
