Property Description

The Fleur de Lis is the busiest pub in the pretty village of Stoke sub Hamdon, also known as Stoke under Ham. This village is just five miles to Yeovil and twenty miles to Taunton making it in a great country location with accessibility to larger towns. The Fleur de Lis is an attractive and strong building which dominates the centre of the village and is the meeting point for all aspects of the community. It is also close to Ham Hill Country Park which is very popular with walkers and it is also interestingly known as a site of special scientific interest that also hosts an Iron Age Fort, which attracts a large number of visitors every year. Pub Layout As you enter the pub through the front door, which can’t be missed as it is right on the street, you either turn left to the more formal dining area or turn right to enter the large main bar area. In the more formal area there is a large cosy fireplace and mixed seating for approximately twenty people. In the larger bar area there is more mixed seating for approximately forty people with traditional furniture and bar games to be enjoyed by all. The bar itself is spacious and able to serve several customers at a time and off this, is the well-appointed commercial catering kitchen. To the rear of the property is a spacious lawned garden with benches scattered over the lawn making a great space for a relaxed drink in the warmer months. The pub also benefits from parking for five cars as well as a skittle alley that is used regularly.

Trading Style

At present the Fleur de Lis trades as a good quality community local with some food such as pub classics and special offers that seem to be popular with the local community. If this site is to flourish it would need to continue to deliver this and even expand on the menu to keep locals coming back and new trade into the pub, this will really make the most of the opportunity. With a good drinks offer available and varied activities such as skittles and darts able to be held at the site, the Fleur de Lis is a busy community hub. There are also 4 letting rooms available at the site which are all en-suite and these generate a great additional income stream.
