Property Description

The Bridge is situated in a prominent location within the Staffordshire town of Stone, occupying a corner position on Oulton Road, just a few hundred yards from the town centre. There is ample off-street parking for customers, alongside a beer garden which is furnished with picnic tables, and at the heart of the pub is an internal courtyard. With a cosy bar and attractive lounge, a trade kitchen and three en-suite letting bedrooms, it is an excellent pub opportunity for an experienced publican who is able to identify and maximise all of the potential revenue streams.

Private Accommodation: Comprising three bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen, the private accommodation is in good condition.

Trading Style

Indoor trading area

The pub has recently undergone a full internal refurbishment and is in perfect condition to appeal to a wide audience. Upon entering from the Oulton Road side, a lobby divides the trading area on the left from the lounge on the right, and another entrance is accessible from the car park. Beneath the sash windows, there is fixed seating which extends around the entire periphery of the building and a central servery serves both the lounge and a smaller, more intimate bar. The lounge bar has an open fire which is a real feature during the colder months and a focal point of the pub. The ample sized trade kitchen is functional and ready to offer a great menu and may be found beyond the seating area. In addition to traditional pub games, such as darts or cribbage, the pub has in the past been known to offer live music such as local bands, solo artists, has a great following for its open mic night and hosts karaoke evenings; this form of entertainment proved popular and a new publican may wish to explore this once again. The pub also has a valuable asset in the shape of three en-suite double letting bedrooms, all of which are well-presented and ready to let.

Outdoor trading area

The charming courtyard patio is accessed directly from the pub and offers a designated smoking area and wood store for fire logs. Parking is available at both sides of the building with enough space for around 30 vehicles. In addition to the car park there is a gated, beer terrace with benches and parasols which is very popular in the warmer months.

Regional Manager Comments

This pub possesses a great deal of potential, with income streams from food and accommodation, as well as drinks sales contributing to an overall healthy picture. The Bridge attracts a wealth of trade from customers across a broad age range and has a loyal following, mainly from the local community, by offering well-kept cask ales, an array of televised sport and good hospitality. It is ideal for a publican who is able to take a hands-on approach whilst understanding the local market, but in turn, be competent in successfully running a business which encompasses food and letting accommodation, as well as a strong wet offer.
