The pub is famous for its homemade Yorkshire Puddings and Sunday Dinners alongside other specialities. Through the front doors is the main restaurant area with the impressive main bar, to the left is the less formal dining area that doubles up as the drinking and socialising area; very popular in summer as it flows into the double doors to the beer garden. There are up to 60 covers within the pub and a great selection on drinks on the bar including traditional cask ales. We are seeking an experienced publican with food knowledge to continue the success of this well known pub business.

Private Accommodation: There is three bedroomed private accommodation on the first floor of the pub with the ability for a family to live on site comfortably, benefitting from recent redecoration throughout. There is also a family bathroom, a modern kitchen, lounge and dining room.

Indoor trading area

An inner entrance porch leads through to the main trading area with an impressive central polished timber bar servery and polished counter top. The main trading area wraps around the central bar and can seat approximately 60 persons on a mixture of good quality fixed perimeter seating, high back dining chairs, low and high stools around polished tables. There is a separate ‘snug’ area for either a small dinking area or private dining if required. The trading area oozes character having exposed ceiling beams and a homely cast iron multi fuel stove. To the far end of the bar area the ladies and gentleman's toilets which are fitted to a high standard. The catering kitchen is very well equipped and clearly the engine room of the pub with a good range of commercial catering equipment and stainless steel benches and a relatively new walk in chiller.

Outdoor trading area

Externally there is an adequately sized paved area to the rear accommodating three picnic style benches, allowing guests to drink alfresco in the warmer months. There is an extensive tarmac car park for circa 30 vehicles.

The Red Lion is a fantastic pub with a strong food offer and refreshing drinks. The pub is a real community asset and I am now looking for a publican who can really embrace the pub and honour its tradition of excellent food. The publican will need a strong food background whilst fully engaging with the local people to maintain the great trade built over the years.
