Trading Style

Indoor trading area

Having been fully refurbished around two years ago, the Gate has a modern décor providing a welcoming environment. There are two internal trade areas, each with their own bar servery. The lounge can seat around 30 and comprises a mixture of fixed seating and tables with stools. The bar is set up for games and entertainment with benches and stools for seating, as well as a pool table, TV and a dart board. The pub also hosts acoustic music occasionally.

Outdoor trading area

The front of the property has a large tarmacked car park with space for 10-15 vehicles. A patio area is situated at the rear of the property with seating for around 15 people, whilst a great beer garden runs along the side of the pub and has picnic tables seating 20 customers. The existing smoking solution is in need of updating.

The current customer base is made up largely of local residents who enjoy the traditional offering of a village pub. Local pool and football teams use the pub along with customers attracted by Sky sports. The Gate offers a simple light snacks menu and has a good following for its Sunday lunch trade.
