Property Description

Located in a prominent position in the popular destination village of Westbury on Trym, the White Horse is an upmarket pub with a great food reputation. It is believed that the building dates to the 17th century and still retains some historical features to this day. Four nicely restored olde worlde trading rooms house smart, rustic furniture. Each room having an individual feel, providing the perfect environment for drinks or food. We are seeking an experienced or first-time publican with a background managing an upper mid-market operation. A catering background would be beneficial should the pub be food-led however, it would trade very well as a town bar.

Private Accommodation: The private accommodation comprises two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, and a bathroom. The new publican will also benefit from having their own private parking.

Trading Style

Indoor trading area

Quality décor and period features throughout provide a very welcoming and cosy atmosphere, boasting plenty of character with low ceilings, exposed brickwork and open fireplaces. The internal trading area has two bar serveries and is spread across several levels with lots of nooks and crannies to hide away in and enjoy a drink or meal with friends. The restaurant area has loose fixtures, a feature wall, and can accommodate a maximum of 60 covers. The trade kitchen is on the first floor and serves the restaurant via a dumb waiter.

Outdoor trading area

The pub has a patio garden to the side of the building with several tables and chairs. A rainproof canopy covers part of the garden providing a covered smoking shelter. This delightful area is adorned with hanging baskets and potted plants.

Regional Manager Comments

The White Horse currently trades as a quality food pub with a fantastic reputation. Considering its excellent location at the centre of Westbury on Trym, it would also work well as a town bar with a quality food offer to compliment the cask ales and speciality drinks menu. The pub is in great condition throughout and would suit either a new or an experienced publican with good vision and enthusiasm.
